Ponderations

Stardate 4^th Jun 2008

The season is well under way now; & after a few early crises with player numbers, we seem to be fulfilling our fixtures and finding our feet

Things have been bolstered by a few freshers being thrown into the fold, the likes of Braidon, Kurt, Dale and Greg have all had their opportunities & have given their all as they commence their, hopefully, lengthy bowls careers.

Pleasing, also, to give the opportunities for Ash & Charlie to develop their back-ending skills & also some of the more senior chaps to see what they can offer in newer positions.

It would be churlish of me not to mention all of those that have helped the club fulfil its commitments in the first month or so & give you all my sincerest thanks. I'd especially like to mention in despatches Ian Fradge for providing "Dad's taxi" & bolstering our numbers with a few choice eleventh-hour phone calls.

Also pleasing was seeing a Toton Lane stalwart give us a run-out before he departs for foreign climes, cheers Deano. Fingers crossed a few others may be encouraged "down the hill".

As the Beeston comps kick off in earnest in the forthcoming weeks, let's look forward and see if we can't get some silverware into the cabinet.
