Update on 2008 League Situation

Stardate 14^th Dec 2007

Sadly, despite our best efforts, the Notts league are steadfastly refusing to accomodate us in the Saturday 4x4 league next season. Basically, the Nottingham section was reduced to one team (i.e. us) and has thus been disbanded.

We approached the Mansfield Section to see if we could be accomodated, but the league's committee have not allowed the move, since it would, apparently, mean a restructure of the league, which is unconsttutional since it wasn't formally motioned at their AGM.

Suffice to say our protests have been made, and have not met with sympathy. Our disappointment at this decision is considerable, but for the sake of peace we have kowtowed and will be competing in the 3x4 league, this Summer.

Needless to say, the prospect of playing 3x4 in both leagues next season should prove challenging in keeping everyone active.

Obviously the more support that your selection committee get next Summer the better & your forbearance will be appreciated.

The tentative plan at the moment is to move to 4x4 midweek for 2009, which should stand us in good stead going forward, but will obviously need your support to ensure we have enough of a squad to acheive this.

However, the prospect of being competitive in the bigger competitions is alluring.
